100 European wins for Panathinaikos
Last week, Panathinaikos defeated Gabala 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round and recorded their 100th win in Europe.
Panathinaikos reached the 100-win mark in European competitions after defeating Gabala on Thursday in their first leg matchup for the UEFA Europa League 3rd qualifying round. The Trifylli have been playing in European competitions since the 1964-1965 season when they recorded their first victory in Europe, defeating Glentoran 3-2 in the European Champion Clubs' Cup (modern day Champions League).
Panathinaikos recorded their 99th win in Europe last season in Europa League qualifying when they defeated Brondy 3-0, but the Prasini were stuck on 99 wins after finishing last season’s group stages without a win.
Panathinaikos’ 100 wins in all European competitions have come in the form of 13 wins in the European Champion Club’s Cup, 1 in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, 27 in the UEFA Cup, 9 in the Cup Winner’s Cup, 36 in the Champions League, and 14 in the Europa League.
