AEK Defeats Panionios, Asteras & PAO Finish Goal-less

AEK returned to its winning ways defeating Panionios 2-0 at the OAKA Stadium the "Black & Yellows" failed to record a victory in their two previous games as they prepare for the SuperLeague playoffs. The win comes against 4th placed Panionios, who waits to see if they will be granted a license to play in the playoffs. In Tripoli, Asteras and Panathinaikos settled to a goal-less draw putting the Arkades in a tough position to claim 6th place, which could possibly lead to a place in the playoffs (depending on Panionios' license).

AEK 2 - 0 Panionios
Pekhart 72', 80'

A huge morale boost for AEK in today's victory over 4th placed Panionios. Things looked to turn for the worst when AEK was left with 10 men in the 70th minute after Cordero was sent off with a second yellow. The substitute, Pekhart, was the home side's hero scoring twice in the final 20 minutes to give AEK and important psychological victory. Before today, AEK failed to win 3 out of their last 4 games as they prepare for the playoffs in hopes of gaining a UEFA Champions League place for next year. Panionios has mathematically secured their place in the playoffs but waits on the decision form the appeals court after EPO denied them a licensure authorization.

Asteras Tripolis 0 - 0 Panathinaikos

In a poor match, Asteras Tripolis and Panathinaikos played to a goal-less draw hurting the home side's hopes for 6th place. The match had few chances for either team with Kalogeropoulos not giving the visitors a penalty in the 42nd minute and Thelander clearing the ball of the line in the final minute to deny Asteras all three points. Asteras will host Veria in the final matchday while Panathinaikos will play at home to relegated Panthrakikos.
