Cristiano Ronaldo took Real Madrid by the hand in the Champions League Quarter-final second leg against Wolfsburg, by scoring a hat-trick in their 3-0 victory to advance to the Champions League Semi-Finals. After Real's 2-0 loss in Germany the Spaniards needed at minimum two goals to overcome their first leg defeat. With an emphatic Ronaldo the "Queen of Europe" was able to progress to the semi-finals in thrilling fashion.
Coming into today's match Real knew they had an enormous mountain to climb after their 2-0 defeat in the first leg. Not only did Real have to score at minimum 2 goals but the team from Madrid had to keep a clean sheet. A conceded goal would force Real Madrid to score four goals to have any chances to progress. The night could not have started any better for the home side as Ronaldo found the back of the net in the 16th and 17th minute, relieving the pressure off of the former European Champions. Real Madrid controlled the pace of the game, looking for the all important third goal that would send them through. It almost came with Ramos' header in the 65th minute, but ball was barely kept out by the woodwork. However, in the 77th minute it was Ronaldo's time to shine, registering his third goal from a free-kick and sending his club to the Champions League Semi-finals in a thrilling comeback.
