Colombia Defeat Leaders Ecuador, Brazil Rescue A Point

Colombia easily defeated CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying leaders Ecuador 3-1 at home to climb to fifth place in the standings. Brazil rescued a point in Paraguay in the 92nd minute after being down 2-0. Argentina and Uruguay both were victorious defeating Bolivia and Peru respectively.

Colombia were the big winners in Matchday 6 of CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying defeating Ecuador 3-1 at home. Ecuador, who was first going into today’s match, fell in second place behind Uruguay while Colombia sits in 5th.

Lionel Messi scored his 50th goal for his country in Argentina’s 2-0 win against Bolivia.

Brazil was down 2-0 in Paraguay before scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes to rescue a point. Dani Alves equalized in the second minute of stoppage time with Brazil drawing their second straight match in qualifying.

Cavani found the back of the net in Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Peru while Chile thrashed Venezuela 1-4 despite going behind in the score in the 9th minute.
