The Greek Soccer Cup is re-starting! The ministry informed the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) that the cup could re-start after the cup was suspended for more than a month due to fan violence in the semi-final between PAOK and Olympiacos. No fans for the semi-finals and only students for the final.
Three games remain for the conclusion of the Greek Cup semi-finals including the first and second legs between AEK-Atromitos and the second leg between PAOK-Olympiacos. All three semi-finals will be conducted without fans while the Cup Final will only be attended by students. Additionally, there is a great possibility that the referee for the final will be from another country. These were the conditions set by the Deputy Minister, Stavros Kontonis, for the Greek Cup to resume.
AEK-Atromitos will play the first leg on April 20th with the second leg to be held on Holy Tuesday, April 26th. On April 27th Olympiacos will host PAOK in the second leg (PAOK forfeited the first match 0-3) and the Greek Cup Final will be held on May 7th at the OAKA Stadium in Athens.
