5 Star Berg for Panathinaikos, Worrisome AEK

An emphatic win for Panathainikos who defeated Panthrakikos 6-1. Marcus Berg scored FIVE goals for the Greens-only the 12th person in the SuperLeague’s history to do so. In Livadia, AEK was defeated easily by Levadiakos 3-0.

Panathinaikos seem ready for the SuperLeague Playoffs after their 6-1 win against relegated Panthrakikos. A first half hat trick by Berg put the game away in the first 45 minutes. In the second half, Panthrakikos scored a consolation goal before Berg netted two more goals. Leto provided three assists to Berg and Villafanez, who scored the “Greens” sixth, also registered one assist. If AEK’s three-point deduction stands, Panathinaikos will finish the season in second place with 55 points.

AEK had a bad loss in Livadia for the final Matchday in the SuperLeague. The Kitrinomavri conceded two own goals in two minutes before the end of the first half. The mistakes did not end there as AEK’s keeper, Baroja, misjudged the ball allowing Mantzios to increase Levadiakos’ lead to three. AEK’ performance is worrisome for their fans with the Playoffs approaching. After today’s loss, AEK will finish in 3rd for the regular season, if their 3 point deduction stands.
