Dimitris Diamantidis, Euroleague Legend

Dimitris Diamantidis played his final game in the Euroleague after Panathinaikos' loss to Laboral Kutxa in the playoffs. Diamantidis was subbed off in the last 30 minutes and received a standings ovation from 20,000 fans at the OAKA Stadium. This was a memorable moment for the legend who is one of the best to ever play in the competition.

Earlier in the season, Diamantidis was the fifth player in the competition's history to be named a "Euroleague Legend." This is what he accomplished:

  • 3 Euroleague Titles with Panathinaikos (2007, 2009, 2011)
  • 1 time Euroleague Full Season MVP (2011)
  • 2 time Euroleague Final-4 MVP (2007, 2011)
  • 5 time All Euroleague Team (2007, 2011, 2012, 2013)
  • 6 time Euroleague Best Defender (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011)
  • 1st in all-time assists with 1,255 (average 4.5 a game)
  • 6th in all-time points with 2,495 (average 8.97 a game)
  • 1st in all-time assists with 434 (average 1.56 a game)
  • 4th in all-time fouls won with 998 (average 3.59 a game)
  • 10th in all-time rebounds with 969 (average 3.49 a game)
  • 2nd in all-time appearances with 278
  • 1st in all-time minutes played with 7,967
  • 14th in all-time blocks, even as a guard, with 118 (average 0.42 a game)
