Rafik Djebbour struck in the 88th minute sending AEK to the Greek Cup Final. Djebbour’s goal leveled the scores 1-1 and AEK defeated Atromitos 1-2 on aggregate over the two legs. The Kitrinomavri will now play Olympiacos in the Greek Cup Final next Saturday.

AEK were favorites to advance to the Cup Final after winning the first leg 1-0 at home. Like the first leg, today’s game was played without fans in the stands. Both teams had few chances in the first half and neither side could find the opener. Atromitos was awarded a penalty after Lambropoulos’ handball in the box and Britto converted the penalty, giving Atromitos the 1-0 lead. The scores were leveled 1-1 on aggregate and it seemed that the match was heading for extra time. Three minutes before the end, substitute Rafik Djebbour was able to take advantage of Atromitos’ poor defending, giving AEK the lead on aggregate and ultimately a place in next Saturday’ Cup final. There, they will play Olympiacos at the OAKA Stadium. AEK will return to the cup final after a 5 year absence. In 2011, they were crowned Cup champions after defeating Atromitos 3-0.
