- Marco Silva Named Best Portuguese Coach -
Olympiacos' Marco Silva was named by the CNID best Portuguese coach working aborad. Last year's winner was Jose Mourinho.
The members of the Portuguese Association of Sports Journalists (CNID) voted Marco Silva as the best Portuguese coach working outside of Portugal for the 2015-2016 season. The Olympiacos coach signed with the club last year and led the erythrolefki to this year's SuperLeague Title and 9 points in the Champions League Group Stage (including a win away to Arsenal 2-3). Jose Mourinho was the previous winner of this award, during his reign at Chelsea last year. Furthermore, Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, was the winner of the best Portuguese player abroad.
Marco Silva could not attend the banquet and accept his award, due to the fact that the date of the Greek Cup Final is unknown. He announced "It is an honor for me to receive this award in my first season coaching outside of Portugal. I hope to have more success in the future. I would also like to share this award with my coaching staff and players."
