Berg 30'
Klonaridis 87'

Panathinaikos won their first derby of the season with an emphatic 3-0 victory over AEK. The win puts Panathinaikos in first place, along with PAOK, on 7 points.

Panathinaikos got off to a great start, taking advantage of their first chance of the match. After a couple of fortunate deflections, the ball made it to Lod’s feet and the Finish player kept his composure and gave Panathinaikos the 1-0 lead. Twenty minutes later, Berg showed his impressive scoring ability and found the back of the net from Villafanez’s cross. Panathinaikos controlled the pace of the game and was clearly better throughout the match. In the second half, AEK failed to threaten the home side and the Prasini capped off a great night with a third goal from Klonaridis.

This is Panathinaikos’s first derby win of the season! The victory comes at a great time as it puts Panathinaikos atop the SuperLeague Playoff Standings with PAOK on 7 points. AEK, who began the day in first place, now sits in 3rd place. The two teams will play again on May 26th at the OAKA Stadium for the 4th matchday of the Playoffs.
