**Olympiacos leads the series 1-0**

Olympiacos made it known that they are the favorites in the A1 Basket League Semi-Final series after defeating AEK 93-58. The emphatic 33 point win at the S.E.F. Stadium gave Olympiacos a 1-0 lead in the best of 5 series.

Olympiacos took an early lead in the game and ended the first quarter ahead 21-14. Olympiacos’ defense in the second quarter, along with their ability to convert on the offensive end, increased the home side’s lead to 22 points by halftime. AEK started off the second half with a 6-0 run, but Olympiacos was able to respond and increase their lead back to 20 points. With three minutes remaining in the third, AEK again was able to cut the lead, this time to 13 points. However, the Erythrolefki pressed AEK and created many turnovers to take a 22 point advantage in the final quarter. Olympiacos continued to press and increased their lead in the third quarter. By the first four minutes in the fourth quarter, they were ahead 31 points. The visitors could not keep up as Olympiacos continued on with a 36 point lead and in the end the final score was 93-58. Top scorers for the home side were Spanoulis with 15 points, Hunter with 12 points, and Printezis dropping 7 points. Mavroeidis led the visitors with 15 points.

The win gives Olympiacos a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. This is Olympiacos’ biggest win in their history against AEK, breaking a record from 2010 where they defeated the Kitrinomavri by 32 points (82-50). Game 2 is scheduled for Friday in Piraeus.
