Olympiacos trailed by 17 points in the third quarter, but a comeback led by Hackett gave Olympiacos a 75-89 victory over AEK. The Erythrolefki swept AEK 3-0 in the best of 5 series, advancing to the Greek A1 Basket League Playoff Finals.
After a close first quarter, that ended 21-18 in favor of AEK, the Kitrinomavri were able to take a 14 point lead during the second quarter. The double digit lead remained until halftime with AEK ahead 41-31. AEK continued where they left off, and increased their advantage to 17 points mid-way through the third quarter. Hackett then took over the game, creating and scoring on the offensive end for Olympiacos and the lead was cut to three (54-51). AEK quickly responded and went ahead by 9 points before Hackett drained a three pointer at the end of the third quarter (61-55). Olympiacos played exceptional defense at the beginning of the fourth quarter and capitalized on the other end. The Erythrolefki went on 10-0 run and took the lead in the fourth quarter. The visitors did not let up, and their lead increased to 9 points with four minutes remaining. AEK seemed to have lost all hope in the game as Olympiacos continued to score. The lead reached up to 16 points for the visitors and the game ended 75-89 for Olympiacos.
Hackett, who led the comeback charge in the third quarter, was the leading scorer for the Reds, with 18 points and 5 assists. Lojeski played an important role in the fourth quarter and finished the game with 14 points. Brown led AEK with 17 points.
The win gives Olympiacos the 3-0 series sweep and puts them in the Greek A1 Basket League Playoff Finals. There, they will await the winner of the Panathinaikos - Aris series (Panathinaikos leads the series 2-1).
