- Ivic Stays With PAOK, Berbatov OUT -
Vladan Ivic agreed to a 3-year deal with PAOK and will continue to coach the Thessalonikiotes. Berbatov, who had a poor season with PAOK, will not be offered a contract extension with the team.
Vladan Ivic took over PAOK midway through the season, after coach Igor Tudor was sacked by the club. Ivic led PAOK to first place in the playoffs and a spot in next year’s UEFA Champions League (qualifying). Due to the team’s success under his management, PAOK announced that they reached an agreement with Vladan Ivic to coach the club for the next three years.
On the other hand, PAOK will not renew Dimitar Berbatov’s contract, which ended this season. Last summer, Berbatov signed a 1-year deal with PAOK, however he had a poor season in Thessaloniki. Berbatov was a “big name” signing for PAOK, and the Greek SuperLeague, but the former Manchester United player had 25 appearances and only 4 goals with the club.
