At the Stadio Eirinis Kai FIlias (Peace and Friendship Stadium) Olympiacos celebrated, with their fans, their second straight Greek Basket League Title! On Monday, Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos in Game 4 with Spanoulis' last second 3-pointer and won the best of five series 3-1.
The fans created a fantastic atmosphere to celebrate Olympiacos' 12th Greek Basket League Title in their history. The ceremony started with the players from the academies entering the court and one of the youngsters beautifully sang the Olympiacos anthem. The cheerleaders followed and tossed jerseys into the stands.
In the main event, the owners of Olympiacos BC, Panagiotis and Giorgios Aggelopoulos entered the court first. Coach Yiannis Sfairopoulos followed the Aggelopoulos brothers as the fans gave him a very warm welcoming. After the full coaching staff was called, the players were the last to come out and did so in the order of their player number. Of course, the stadium erupted when fan favorites Georgios Printezis and Vassilis Spanoulis entered the court. Both players have been with the club for many years and have played a critical role in the the team's success. Additionally, Spanoulis was the hero of this year's Basket League Finals series, scoring the game winning 3-pointer in Games 2 and 4 at the OAKA Basketball Stadium.
Once all the players received their medals as Champions, the president of ESAKE handed the Basket League trophy to Olympiacos' captain Vassilis Spanoulis. The Greek guard lifted the trophy, with the Aggelopoulos brothers, as the players, coaching staff, and fans celebrated their second straight Greek Basket League Title!
