GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 6
|Levadiakos||1 - 1||Larissa|
|Silva 55'||Dodo 66'|
Larissa and Levadiakos played to stalemate 1-1 draw in Livadeia for the 6th Matchday of the Greek SuperLeague. Both goals came in the second half with Silva opening the score for the hosts in the 55th minute and Dodo equalized eleven minutes later for Larissa.
After both teams won their previous SuperLeague matches, the priority for both sides was to avoid defeat in tonight’s fixture. This was shown in the first half as both teams played conservatively and neither created a good chance to score in the opening 45 minutes.
Things changed at the beginning of the second half (55th minute) when Zezinho’s cross from the left side was turned in by Silva to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. This forced Larissa to play more on the attack and the visitors quickly brought the game level 11 minutes later. Varela’s in-swinging free-kick was met by Dodo’s header and the Vyssini found the equalizer. After the goal, Levadiakos looked more of a threat for a winner, but the hosts could not convert two great chances in the 69th and 72nd minutes through Mantzios and Belghazouani. In the end, both teams were happy with earning a point from tonight’s match before the international break.
Levadiakos now has 4 points and will travel to Giannina to play PAS after the break. Larissa moves up to 5 points and will look to record another upset when they host AEK in matchday 7.
