GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 7

Panetolikos 4 - 0 Kerkyra
Tomane 5'
Paulo 7', 56'
Rosa 82'

Panetolikos came away with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Kerkyra in Agrinio for the 7th matchday of the Greek SuperLeague. Tomane opened the score in the 5th minute and Paulo added a goal in both halves. Rosa capped off a great night with a goal in the 82nd minute.

Panetolikos came out with a bang and found themselves ahead 5 minutes into play when Tomare found the back of the net with a nice effort on goal. Before Kerkyra could respond to Panetolikos’ early goal, Paulo doubled the hosts’ lead 2 minutes later, giving Panetolikos complete control of the game. After their tremendous start to the match, the Kanarinia took their foot off the gas as Kerkyra began to look better on the pitch. However, the visitors  did not threaten Panetolikos’ goal and the 2-0 lead remained at the break.

In the second half, Panetolikos continued to prove that they were the better side on the night and in the 56th minute, Ledesma (who had a great match) served his second assist of the game. Paulo was played in on goal and made no mistake to beat Arabatzis to score his second goal of the match and Panetolikos’ third of the game. From that point on, the pace of the game fell. Kerkyra created their best chance of the game midway through the half when Zorbas was denied by the woodwork, but it was Panetolikos who capped off a great night when Rosa found the back of the net in the 82nd minute to give Panetolikos an emphatic 4-0 victory.

Tonight’s result is Panetolikos’ second win of the season and puts the Kanarinia on 8 points. Kerkyra suffered their fourth loss from 5 games as they sit near in the relegation zone with only 3 points. Next weekend, Panetolikos travels to Levadiakos and Kerkyra hosts Asteras Tripolis.
