Olympiacos defeated Laboral Kutxa 90-95 in a thrilling match for the fourth round in the Euroleague Regular season! Led by their captain, Vassilis Spanoulis, Olympiacos moved up to 3-1 in the league as Kill-Bill set a new personal best for assists in a game and climbed to second in all-time assists in the Euroleague.

Laboral Kutxa (2-1), who made it to last year’s Final-4, hosted Olympiacos (2-1) in the fourth round of the Euroleague Regular Season. The Greek Champions fell behind by as many as 11-points (47-36) in the first half, but quickly bounced back before the halftime break cutting Laboral’s lead to 5-points (52-47). In the third quarter, Olympiacos went ahead by 5-points (64-69) before the hosts responded to take a 2-point lead into the final quarter (74-72). Green came off the Olympiacos bench on “fire” for yet another game to give the Erythrolefki an 8 point lead (80-88) which was held mid-way through the fourth quarter. A 5-0 run from Laboral brought the score at 87-90 with over two minutes remaining, however Green took matters into his own hands giving Olympiacos an impressive 90-95 victory on the road.

Although Green (13 points) played a crucial role at the end of the game yet again, it was Spanoulis who was the center of attention on the night. The Greek guard scored 15 points and had 15 assists, setting a new personal record. Additionally, Spanoulis climbed to 2nd in all-time assists in the Euroleague, with 984, surpassing his countryman Theodoros Papaloukas (977). The all-time assist leader is former Greek International Dimitris Diamantidis with 1255 assists. 

Mantzaris led Olympiacos with 17 points and Papanikolaou added 15 points. The Erythrolefki went 16/30 from behind the arch which was the second most three pointers made in a Euroleague game by a single team (most is 19 by Siena).

The win moves Olympiacos to 3-1 in the Euroleague season and there next match will be on November 3rd against undefeated CSKA Moscow at the Stadio Erinis kai Filias. Laboral is now 2-2 this season and will travel to play Crvena Zvezda in round 5.
