Olympiacos had a difficult night against Kolossos Rodou at the Stadio Erinis kai Filias, coming away with a 75-67 victory. A push in the final minutes from the Erythrolefki was enough for them to go 4/4 in this year’s Greek Basket League.
After playing two midweek games in the Euroleague, the fatigue was evident in the Olympiacos players as they hosted Kolossos Rodou for the 4th round of the Greek Basket League. The visitors took a surprising 6-point lead into halftime and an exciting final ten minutes awaited as both teams went into the fourth quarter tied 57-57. In the final minutes of the game (score was tied at 67-67), Olympiacos went on an 8-0 run with Printezis, Green, and Papanikolaou and came away with a difficult 75-67 victory against a tough Kolossos Rodou side..
Green was Olympiacos’ leading scorer for yet another game with 18 points and left the game with a injury. Papapetrou was the best player for Olympiacos, finishing the game with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Spanoulis was rested for today’s match and did not make an appearance for the Erythrolefki. Reddic finished with a double-double for Kolossos, scoring 11 points and getting 13 rebounds.
Similar to last week, Olympiacos escaped from falling victim to a major upset after defeating Doxa Lefkadas in the final seconds for Round 3 of the Basket league. Olympiacos move to 4-0 for the season and are now tied with AEK atop the standings. Kolossos goes to 1-3 after today’s defeat.
