It was another disappointing night for PAOK Basketball as they fell to Trikala 84-73 in the surprise result of the Greek Basket League’s 7th round of play. AEK remained undefeated after hei victory against Prometheus at the OAKA Nick Galis Stadium, while both Kolossos Rodou and Apollon Patras were victorious against Doxa Lefkadas and Korovios, respectively.
PAOK fell victim to yet another upset in this year’s Greek Basket League, coming up short against Trikala 84-73 in the 7th Round of the Greek Basket League. PAOK put on a horrible showing as Trikala took an early lead which continued to build as the game progressed. The hosts increased their advantage by as many as 18-points at the beginning of the 4th quarter and PAOK was handed their 4th straight defeat in both domestic and European competitions. Manopoulos had a stellar game for Trikala going 7 for 10 from the 3-point line while putting up 23-points. Sibert led PAOK with 16-points. The loss moves PAOK to 4-3 after 7 games while Trikala will look to build off of this win as they sit near the bottom of the standings with a 2-5 record. Highlights can be found here...
Prometheus put up a good fight against an undefeated AEK side at the OAKA Nick Galis Stadium, but fell in the end 76-60. It was a rough night for the Kitronomavri in the opening 25 minutes, but a tremendous 15-0 run at the of the third quarter proved decisive in the final result. AEK’s defense held the visitors to only TWENTY points in the second half as they moved to 7-0 before next week’s derby against Olympiacos at the Stadio Erinis kai Filias. Vasilieiadis led AEK with 19-points (4/5 from behind the arch) while Mavroeidis put up 15-points.
Kolossos Rodou recorded their 3rd straight victory at home in this year’s Greek Basket League by defeating Doxa Lefkadas 77-60. The hosts took control of the game early on with a very successful night (12/30) from behind the arch and held on for an easy win. The leading scorer for Kolossos Rodou was Chuku with 17-points and Hall followed with 14-points. Wells led Doxa Lefkadas with 19-points. Highlights can be found here...
Apollon Patras celebrated their second win of the season, blowing out Koroivos 92-66 at home. A dominating second half from the hosts gave them a commanding lead and ultimately a comfortable victory in the end. The result keeps Koroivos at the bottom of the standings with only one win from seven games while the pressure eases off Apollon Patras for the time being. Bavcic, Kalinoski, and Cobbins stood-out for the hosts while Brown was the best player for a disappointing Koroivos side. Highlights can be found here...
