-- Kyriakidis Called Up for the First Time to the National Team --
Dimitris Kyriakidis of Panetolikos has been called up for the first time to the Greek National Team. The 30-year old goalkeeper will replace Stefanos Kapino who was ruled out after suffering an injury in Olympiacos’ match against Panathinaikos over the weekend.
Stefanos Kapino was subbed-off in Olympiacos’ match against Panathinaikos on Sunday due to an injury and has been ruled out for Greece’s upcoming games against Belarus (friendly) and Bosnia-Herzegovina (World Cup Qualifier). Dimitris Kyriakidis of Panetolikos was called up by Michael Skibbe to replace the Olympiacos goalkeeper, earning his first call-up at the age of 30-years old. Kyriakidis is finally rewarded for his good appearances with his club and hard work over the years.
There is also a possibility that Lazaros Christodoulopoulos could make a return to the National Team after Tasos Bakasetas suffered an injury with AEK.
