Panathinaikos and AEK were in a deadlock for the first 35 minutes before Bourousis took over for the Trifylli as they celebrated a 77-68 over the Kitrinomavri. Panathinaikos now sit alone in second place of the standings while AEK moved down to third.
It was a DERBY at the OAKA Nick Galis Hall as Panathinaikos played host to AEK for the 10th round of the Greek Basket League. Three quarters did not separate the sides as the team's went into the final 10 minutes tied 56-56.
In the fourth fourth quarter, Panathinaikos’ big summer signing, Yiannis Bourousis, made the difference. The Greek center scored five points and gave an important assist to Charalampopoulos to put Panathinaikos ahead 64-56. AEK, who had a great game as whole, got back into the match and cut Panathinaikos’ lead to four points (67-63) with five minutes remaining. However, Bourousis came through once again for the Prasini by not only scoring points but also providing assists to lead Panathinaikos to a 77-68 victory.
Feldene led Panathinaikos with 20-points and Nichols followed with 16-points. Bourousis, who was clutch near the end of the game finished with 11-points. Ukic was the leading scorer for AEK with 19-points and both Sakota and Larentzakis followed with 14 and 13-points, respectively.
The win puts Panathinaikos in second place with a 9-1 record while AEK dropped to third place with an 8-2 record (both losses are from Olympiacos and Panathinaikos). Olympiacos, who defeated Rethymno 83-58, remain in first place with a 10-0 record.
