The promotion contenders were all victorious on Monday in the sixth matchday of the Greek Football League. Lamia, Apollon Smyrnis, OFI, and Agrotikos Asteras came away with wins against Chania, Aiginiakos, Kallithea, and Panserraikos.
It was an easy day for Lamia as they defeated Chania 0-3 in Crete. The visitors opened the scoring as early as the 11th minute with Omo and 10 minutes from halftime, Vasilogiannis doubled Lamia’s lead. In the second half, Lamia added a third goal with Ntourmisai in the 58th minute as they added an easy three points to their tally for the season. Lamia currently lead the way in the Football League with 16 points and ZERO goals conceded, while Chania sit in the relegation zone with four points from six matches.
Apollon Smyrnis left it extremely late against Aiginiakos in the 6th matchday of the Greek Football League. Kone scored in the 90th minute for the visitors, giving them a 1-2 win and three important points in their race for promotion. Tzanis opened the scoring for Apollon Smyrnis in the 26th minute and Kyziridis equalized for the hosts ten minutes from time. Kone’s goal gave Apollon Smyris their first victory after two consecutive draws in their previous outings. They now sit second in the standings (tied with Aris) while Aiginiakos remain well behind with five points from six games.
OFI struggled on the road against Kallithea, but was able to come away with the 1-2 victory. It took 82 minutes for the visitors to find the breakthrough as Milosavljev gave OFI the late lead. Manos doubled OFI’s lead five minutes later, putting all three points in the bag for side. The hosts managed to pull one back in the 90th minute with Mouhtaris, but the visitors held on at the final whistle for the win. With today’s result, the Cretan side are quickly finding their form as they have now recorded three straight wins in league play, sitting in sixth place with 11 points. Kallithea are currently in the drop zone with only three points from six matches.
Agrotikos Asteras remained in fourth place after a comfortable 2-0 win against Panserraikos in Thessaloniki. The goals came in either half for the hosts with Koukolis scoring the opener at the half hour mark while Gesios sealed his side’s victory in the 85th minute. Agrotikos Asteras have 13 points from six matches while Panserraikos sit mid-table with 10 points.
