EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL - ROUND 11

Olympiacos 88 - 59 Galatasaray
(24 - 16)
(43 - 28)
(68 - 42)
(88 - 59)

Olympiacos implemented their fast-paced rhythm in today’s game against UNICS Kazan and came away with an easy 88-59 victory over the Russian club. Hackett left the match with a worrisome injury in the final minute of the fourth quarter.

Olympiacos got off to a blistering start by going ahead 13-2 within the first five minutes and their lead reached 13 points (22-9) in the first quarter. A run from the visitors late in the first quarter, that continued in the second, saw Zalgiris come within four points (24-20) of pulling level. However, Olympiacos implemented an explosive rhythm to the game, resulting in many easy buckets, and they took a commanding 43-28 lead into halftime.

With Olympiacos in complete control of the game and UNICS unable to pose a threat, the difference continued to increase as the hosts ended the third quarter ahead by 26 points (68-42). It was a similar story in the final 10 minutes and in the end, Olympiacos celebrated a blowout 88-59 victory.

The only negative instance in today's game came with one minute remaining when Hackett left the match with an injury. The first diagnosis looks to be a fracture which will leave him out for the remainder of the calendar year.

Lojeski and Green led Olympiacos with 15 points each while Langford was a team by himself, scoring 25 points for UNICS Kazan. Despite only going 3/16 from behind the arch, Olympiacos managed to score 88 points.

The win puts Olympiacos at 7-4 after eleven games while UNICS Kazan sit at 3-8. Next week Olympiacos will face another bottom of the table side when they travel to Lithuania to play Zalgiris.
