UEFA Denies Panionios the Europa League

UEFA Denies Panionios the Europa League

Panionios was not granted a license by UEFA to compete in next year’s Europa League and the Kyanerythri will not play in Europe next season. PAS Giannina will take Panionios’ place in the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa League.

Despite a great season in the Greek SuperLeague (finished 5th), Panionios will not represent Greece in next season’s Europa League. UEFA saw deficiencies in Panionios’ licensing folder and UEFA denied Panionios a license to compete in Europe. As the SuperLeague’s 5th placed team, Panionios was scheduled to enter the Europa League 2nd Qualifying Round. After UEFA’s decision, PAS Giannina (finished in 6th) will take Panionios’ place in the Europa League. It is a historic decision for PAS Giannina as they will compete in Europe for the first time in their club’s history.

PAS Giannina will begin their European season in the 2nd Qualifying Round and will play their first game on July 14th. More information on PAS Giannina’s quest for the Europa League Group Stage can be found here...
