The Greek National Basketball put on a great showing in their first of three friendlies as they prepare for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Greece defeated Turkey 78-52 at the OAKA Basketball Stadium (now called Niko Galis) and will travel to Turkey for their second friendly on Sunday.
The two NBA players, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kostas Koufos, led Greece in today's friendly victory over Turkey. Greece got off to a good start and took a conformable lead into halftime. In the second half, through great defensive plays, Greece continued to increase their lead and came away with the 26-point victory (78-52). Greece's defense was exceptional throughout the match. On the offensive end, Greece had trouble when Antetokounmpo was off the court as he made an important impact when he was in the game. Koufos led the National team with 17 points, Papapetrou followed with 15 points, and Antetokoumpo had 13 points.
It is a good result and showing for the "Epismi Agapimeni" in their first game since last September's Eurobasket. Greece's second of three friendlies will take place on Sunday with a rematch against Turkey in the neighboring country.
