- Canas Signs with PAOK -
PAOK made another signing in this summer’s transfer window with Jose Alberto Canas. The 29-year old Spaniard signed a 3-year deal after being released from Espanyol.
Canas is a defensive midfielder that began his career with Real Betis. He played with Betis from 2009-2013 and was considered one of the better defensive midfielders in the Primera Division. In 2013, he made a move to the English Premier League for Swansea City where he had 35 appearances. After his 1-year contract with Swansea ended, he returned to Spain for Espanyol. He has had 48 appearances in his two years with Catalans.
His deal ended with Espanyol and Canas signed a 3-year contract with PAOK as a “free-agent”. He will join the team in pre-season training as they prepare for UEFA Champions League Qualifying which begins in two weeks.
