- The GriezMANN of France -
UEFA EURO 2016 - SEMI-FINALS
|Germany||0 - 2||France|

Griezmann is the one MAN show for France! The Frenchman scored two goals in today’s semi-final against Germany, leading his nation to a 2-0 victory over the World Champions. Germany was the better side throughout the match, but it will be France who will play against Portugal in Sunday’s Euro 2016 Final.
The French pressed the Germans at the beginning of the match, with Neuer making a great save to deny Griezmann the opening goal. From the 10th minute on, it was all Germany. The World Champions controlled the possession and forced Lloris to make difficult saves. It seemed that Germany was going to open the score, but a clumsy handball in the penalty area by the veteran Schweinsteiger gave France a penalty in first half stoppage time. From the spot, Griezmann made no mistake and sent France ahead 1-0 at halftime.
France was handed the first good chance in the first half, but Giroud failed to double France’s lead. The Germans kept possession, however they did not seem as confident or explosive as the first half. With Germany unable to find an equalizer, France took advantage and scored a second goal. Pogba’s fantastic footwork freed him from Mustafi and his left-footed cross was barely cleared by Neuer, with the ball falling in the path of Griezmann. Griezmann’s shot beat Neuer giving France the clear advantage for the win. Germany looked to get back into the game after the second goal, but failed to find the back of the net. Chances went to waste for the World Champions and they were denied by the woodwork 2 minutes after Griezmann’s goal.
France will now play in their first European Championship Final since 2000. There they will face Portugal, who defeated Wales yesterday in the first semi-final. France is the first host nation to reach the championship game since 2004, when Portugal made it to the Euro 2004 Final, falling to Greece 1-0. The Euro 2016 Final will be played on Sunday at 3:00 PM (EST).
