- Golares from Diamantakos & Manias, Karelis Scores Again -
Both Nikos Karelis and Michalis Manias were scorers in the third matchday of the Belgian Jupiler League. In Germany, Dimitris Diamantakos put away a great backheel goal to help Karlsruhe earn a point against Bochum.
Diamantakos got off to a great start in his second season in Germany with Karlsruhe. The former Olympiacos player scored a second half goal with a great back heel effort to bring his side level 1-1 against Bochum. The goal gave Karlsruhe a point in their opening game of the German 2nd Division (2. Bundesliga).
Nikos Karelis scored his second goal of the season for Genk in a 2-2 draw at home to Waasland-Beveren. Karelis’ goal 10 minutes before the halftime whistle brought Genk back into the game after going down 0-2 early on. A late own goal from the visitors brought the game level to the eventual final score 2-2.
Michalis Manias found the back of the net for the first time with his new club Westerlo in the Belgian Jupiler League. The former PAS Giannina striker beat the opposing goalkeeper with a tremendous effort to level the scores 1-1 with only 11 minutes remaining. Unfortunately for Manias and Westerlo, Eupen quickly responded to take a 1-2 victory.
