SWIMMING – Men's 10km Marathon, FINAL: Spyros Gianniotis
***In his final Olympics, Spyros Gianniotis has done it, an Olympic Medal. In one of the most exciting finishes in Olympic history, Gianniotis won the silver medal, losing the gold by only a fingertip. Full story here...
Track & Field – Women's Pole Vault, Qualifying A: Katerina Stefanidis
***The current European Champion cruised to the final round of the Women's Pole Vault competition after one successful jump of 4.60 meters. Full story here...
CYCLING – Men's Keirin, Full Event: Christos Volikakis
***Volikakis finished his heat in the Men's Keirin event in 4th place and advanced to the 2nd Round after claiming 1st place in the Repechage. In the 2nd Round he finished 5th and raced in the Consolation Final were he finished in 12th.
Track & Field – Women’s 100m Hurdles, Heat 3: Elisavet Peseridou
***Peseridou finished her heat in 7th place with a time of 13.10 seconds. She was 33rd overall.
Track & Field – Men's 200m, Heat 1: Lykourgos Tsakonas
***Tsakonas advanced to the semi-finals of the event after finishing 3rd in his heat with a time of 20.31 seconds. He will race in tomorrow's semi-finals with the 21st best time.
Sailing – Men’s 470, Preliminary Races 8-10: Kagialis & Maniatis
***Kagialias & Maniatis were exceptional in the final three races in the preliminary round and claimed 2nd place overall. Their current standings mathematically SECURES them a bronze medal! Full story here...
Synchronized Swimming – Women’s Duet, Final: Papazoglou & Platanioti
***The Greek duo finished in 10th place in the preliminary round and stayed in 10th after today's Final Round. They completed their free routine with a score of 86.500.
Track & Field – Men's 110m Hurdles, Semi-final: Kostas Douvalidis
***After finishing first in his heat during qualifying (6th overall), Douvalidis could not progress to the event's final. He finished in 13th overall in the semifinals with a time of 13.47 seconds.
Track & Field – Women's Long Jump, Qualifying Group A (8:05 PM): Haido Alexouli
***Alexouli did not progress to the event's final and bowed out of the competition in 32nd place.
