- Marko Marin Signs With Olympiacos -

Marko Marin is the the newest addition to Olympiacos. The 27-year old German International has signed a 3-year contract with the Greek Champions. Olympiacos will officially announce the signing tomorrow.

Olympiacos has made an impressive signing with German International Marko Marin from Chelsea. He signed a three-year contract with the Greek champions at an undisclosed transfer-fee. Marin is a 27-year old attacking midfielder that can play behind the striker, but mostly plays on the wings. Olympiacos was in need of a player in the wing position from the beginning of the summer, especially after Jimmy Durmaz's move to Toulouse.

The 27-year old has a rich background as his former club, Chelsea, and his call-ups to the German National Team speaks for itself. He began his career with Borussia Monchengladbach (2007-2009) where he had 12 goals and 28 assists from 72 appearances. In 2009, he made a move to Werder Bremen where he made his name known. In 3 seasons with the club, he made 116 appearances, scored 13 goals, and had 34 assists. He then completed a big move to the English Premier League for Chelsea on a €10 million transfer deal. He played one season at Chelsea (19 appearances, 3 goals, 2 assists) before being loaned out for the next 3 seasons. He first played at Sevilla from 2013-2014 (2 goals, 7 assists) recording his last "full" season and won his second straight Europa League title (first was with Chelsea). In 2014-2015, he played at Fiorentina and Anderlecht making only 12 appearances and scoring 2 goals. His final stop before Olympiacos was in Turkey for Trabzonspor, where he made 24 appearances, scoring two goals and giving four assists. During his "prime" (2008-2010) he was called up to the German National Team, recording 16 caps for his country.
Over the last couple of years he has been troubled by injuries. He has great technical abilities, speed, and and can offer a lot from the wings. The big question remains- Can Marin find the form in Greece that led him to Chelsea and the German National Team?

Marin stated that he signed a 3-year contract with the Eryhrolefki and the club will officially announce the signing tomorrow.

*Olympiacos announced that Dimitris Goutas will be loaned out for 1 season to Belgian side Kortrijk.
