- Degra Costs Larissa 2 Points -
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 3
|Larissa||2 - 2||Iraklis|
|Avraam 15', 55'
Larissa and Iraklis battled it out in the final match of Round 3 in the Greek Superleague, playing to a 2-2 draw. Lambrou gave the visitors the lead before Avraam scored twice to put Larissa ahead 2-1. Degra made a childish mistake and Iraklis equalized 2-2 with Leozinho.
Iraklis stunned the home fans in the 10th minute, when Lambrou cleverly chipped the ball past Degra to give Iraklis the 0-1 lead. Larissa quickly responded with Avraam, who took advantage of a defensive miscommunication from the visitors, to pull Larissa level 1-1. After the entertaining first 15 minutes, the final half-hour of the first period went by without any notable chances.
In the second half, Larissa pressed on in Iraklis’ half and the breakthrough came once again with Avraam. A great save from Huanderson ended up in the path of the Cypriot who scored his second goal of the night to give Larissa the 2-1 lead. However, Larissa’s goalkeeper, Degra, made a childish mistake (attempting to dribble past Iraklis’ forwards) leaving Leozinho with an easy task to bring Iraklis level. The SuperLeague “new boys” looked to regain the lead and claim all three points, but the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Larissa will see this as a missed opportunity to record their first win of their SuperLeague season. Next week they will travel to Kerkyra while Iraklis hosts Olympiacos.
