Greece got off to a rough start in Eurovolley 2017 Qualifying with a 0-3 defeat to Belgium.
Belgium displayed why they are the favorites to qualify from Pool C for the 2017 Eurovolley Championships after a 0-3 victory over Greece. Belgium easily took the first set 17-25, and went ahead early in the second set 6-10, then 11-16, then 16-20. Greece gained some ground making the scores 18-20 and brought it within a point at 23-24. However, Belgium won the final point to take the second set 23-25. In the 3rd set, Greece found themselves ahead 16-14 with Belgium regaining the lead 16-18 after 4 consecutive points. From that point on, Belgium did not lose their advantage and went on to win the set 22-25 and the match 0-3.
This is Greece’s first of three games in the first Eurovolley Qualifying Tournament of Pool C taking place in Kozani.
