- Four Goals for Karelis -
Nikos Karelis scored FOUR goals in Genk’s match against Aalst for the Round of 32 of the Belgium Cup. Karelis scored a first half hat trick and added a fourth goal in the second half in Genk’s 0-4 victory as his side advanced to the next round.
The Greek striker opened the score in the 13th minute with a well-placed shot and 7 minutes later, another finesse strike gave Genk the 0-2 lead. The former Panathinaikos player went on to score a first half hat trick with three minute remaining before the break. His great night was capped off early in the second half when he scored his fourth goal in the 49th minute to give Genk the easy 0-4 victory. Although Aalst is a 4th division side in Belgium, tonight's performance will continue to build Karelis’ confidence for his season in Belgium.
