Atromitos earned their first victory in three games after defeating Levadiakos 2-0 at the Peristeri Stadium. Martin Tonso scored twice for the hosts, finding the back of the net in the 25th minute and in second half stoppage time. Levadiakos have now faced defeat in their last five SuperLeague outings.
Atromitos celebrated their first win of 2017 after their 2-0 victory over Levadiakos. The opening goal came in the 25th minute when Tonso brilliantly chipped the ball into the back of the net after Namasco’s poor clearance. After the opener, both sides missed opportunities to find a goal however the 1-0 score stood at halftime.
Both teams got off to a slow start in the second half before Levadiakos increased their pressure in the final 15 minutes of the game as they looked for an equalizer. Kapsaskis came inches away from the leveler, however his powerful shot was stopped by the crossbar. The visitors’ pressure did not pay off and it was Atromitos who sealed all three points when Tonso doubled his side’s lead in second half stoppage time, making no mistake from close range (le Tallec the assist).
Today’s results marks Atromitos’ first victory in three game in the Superleague while Levadiakos suffered their fifth straight defeat. Atromitos are now 5th in the standings, tied with AEK, while Levadiakos sit only four points clear of the relegation zone.
