-- Ansarifard & Cissokho Sign with Olympiacos --
It was a busy weekend at the office for Olympiacos as they made two big signings. The Erythrolefki signed Panionios’ star Karim Ansarifard and agreed to a loan deal with Aston Villa for Aly Cissokho.
Karim Ansarifard completed his move from Panionios to Olympiacos over the weekend. The Iranian striker has already begun training with his new team and could make his first appearance for Olympiacos on Wednesday against Asteras Tripolis. Ansarifard also caught the interest of PAOK, however he chose to continue his career in Piraeus, in a move that cost over €400,000. Ansarifard joined Panionios in 2015 having scored 15 goals in 51 appearances for the club. This season he has scored 5 goals and given 3 assists in 15 matches. Ansarifard is also a member of the Iranian National Team and represented his country at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Olympiacos will have another option in the left back position after they announced the signing of Aly Cissokho. The French defender will play on loan at Olympiacos from Aston Villa until the end of the season. The 29-year old has made 12 appearances with the English club for the first half of the season, however he lost his place in the starting XI triggering his move to Greece. Cissokho has an inviting background having played at Europe’s premier clubs including Liverpool, Porto, Lyon, and Valencia.
