On Saturday, Kostas Mitroglou scored for a third consecutive match, helping Benfica to a 3-3 draw in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Benfica pulled off an impressive comeback on Saturday against Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Despite falling behind 0-3 in the first 25 minutes, the hosts were able to claim a point from a 3-3 draw.
The comeback was led by Greek striker, Kostas Mitroglou, who scored Benfica’s first goal in the 41st minute only after being subbed on three minutes prior. Mitroglou tapped the ball into the net and recorded his third goal from consecutive matches for Benfica. Jonas’s penalty and an own goal from Espinho gave Benfica an important point in their title run. Benfica remain 4 points clear atop the standings (42 points) with their rivals FC Porto trailing with 38 points. Andreas Samaris also played the full 90 minutes for Benfica.
Mitroglou has scored three times for Benfica in 2017, having reached 14 goals this season from 25 appearances.
