-- K. Papadopoulos Looks to Save Hamburg from Relegation --
Kyriakos Papadopoulos will play the second half of the season on loan at Hamburg from Bayer Leverkusen.
Kyriakos Papadopoulos began the season on loan at Leipzig from Bayer Leverkusen and will now finish the season on loan at Hamburg. Papadopoulos has had another disappointing year due to numerous injury problems, only playing 8 minutes at Leipzig.
The 24-year old will look to put all of his injury worries behind him at his new club while helping Hamburg avoid relegation.. Hamburg have struggled this season as they currently sit in the relegation zone, third from bottom. They are the only club in Germany to have avoided relegation to the second division since the end of World War I.
After signing his new deal, Papadopoulos stated “Hamburg is a great club. I hope that I will help the club achieve its goals. I am in good physical shape and I can't wait to begin practices with the club.”
Papadopoulos’ deal to Hamburg closed at around €2 million.
