A 40th minute own goal from Mitropoulos gave Xanthi the 1-0 win in their first leg match against OFI in the Greek Cup Round of 16.

Xanthi has the advantage to earn their place in the Greek Cup quarter-finals after their 1-0 win over OFI at the Pigadia Stadium. The hosts have to thank their opponent, Pavlos Mitropoulos, who accidently put the ball into his own net in the 40th minute, a goal that separated the sides at the final whistle.

The hosts could have increased their advantage heading into the second leg, however the woodwork denied both Soltani and Younes. In the 70th minute, OFI created their best chance of the match, but  Manos was unable to turn the ball into the net from close range.

The second leg will take place in one week’s time with as Xanthi take a 1-0 lead to Crete.
