-- Marcus Berg Renews Contract with Panathinaikos Until 2019 --
Panathinaikos star Marcus Berg renewed his contract with the club until 2019. Panathinaikos also announced the signing of Viktora Klonaridis on a loan deal from French club Lens.
After agreeing to a contract renewal in September with Panathinaikos, Marcus Berg put pen to paper today extending his contract with the club until 2019. The Sweden international will now earn €1.1 Million a year plus bonuses compared to his old deal where he received €800,000 a year.
The new contract also has a buy-out clause of €10 Million, however if Berg is transferred in the future, Panathinaikos will not receive the full amount of the transfer fee. That is because Hamburg own 35% of the player’s rights while Berg holds 10% of his rights with Panathinaikos owning the remaining 55%. In the scenario that Panathinaikos do sell Berg for €10 Million, the Trifylli will receive a total of €5.5 Million.
Panathinaikos also made a new signing today as Viktora Klonaridis will return to the club on a six month loan deal from French club Lens. Klonaridis played at Panathinaikos from 2013-2016 before making a move to France.
