It was a busy winter transfer season for Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK, and PAOK as many players either joined or left the respective clubs. AGONAsport.com brings to you all the moves of Greece’s “big four” during the month of Januaruy. 



The big story in Greece during the transfer window was the last minute and historic move of Luka Milivojevic to Crystal Palace in a deal that could reach up to €16 Million. The club did not “invest” the money in Milivojevic’s replacement as only three players were signed in an effort to strengthen both the offensive and defensive lines. The Erythrolefki also loaned out many players to lessen the team’s excessive roster.

Panathinaikos used January to “clean out” their roster while only making two signings. Kourbelis was brought over from Asteras Tripolis to strengthen the Prasini’s backline while Klonaridis returned to the club after a six month absence

AEK completed an impressive signing with Argentine striker Sergio Araujo in the final days of the transfer window while their “big” summer signing, Joleon Lescott, was released after a poor six months spell at the club.

PAOK lost their best player of the season, Gary Rodrigues, to a €3.6 Million deal to Turkish giants Galatasaray while many other players were either released or loaned out to other clubs. The Dikefalos tou Vora made notable signings including Pedro Henrique and Aleksandar Prijovic to strengthen their attack.
