Olympiacos traveled to Russia to face off against UNICS Kazan with many injury problems, including Spanoulis, Lojeski, and Young for the 21st round of the Euroleague. However, led by Green and Printezis, Olympiacos played tremendous basketball on both ends of the court to come away with a 75-90 win.
The visitors were exceptional in the first half as they grew their lead to as many as 27 points (16-43), building a decisive advantage by halftime. The hosts, however, did manage to trim the lead to single digits (61-69) at the start of the fourth quarter, but Olympiacos kept their composure and cruised to a 15-point victory in the end.
Green was the MVP of the game with 25-points while Olympiacos’ vice-captain, Printezis, finished with 20-points. Milutinov also played a critical role as he added 10-points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Greek club. As a team, Olympiacos were on fire from behind the arch, finishing the game 17/25 from 3-point range.
The win moves Olympiacos’ record to 15-6, along with CSKA Moscow and Real Madrid atop the Euroleague standings. The Greek Champions maintain complete control of claiming at minimum fourth spot, which leads to home court advantage in the playoffs.
