Ideye the 8th Most Expensive Move to China
Brown Ideye’s transfer to Tianjin Teda was the 8th most expensive transfer in the league during the winter transfer season.
Over the past couple of months, multiple Chinese clubs spent tens of millions of dollars to bring big name players to the Chinese Super League. One of the most expensive signings included Brown Ideye’s move from Olympiacos to Tianjin Teda.
According to transfermarkt, Ideye’s move to China cost €12 Million which was was the 8th highest move in the league during the winter transfer season.
The most expensive signing, by far, was Oscar’s transfer from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG which closed at €60 Million. Other “big name” players that moved to China included Alexandre Pato from Villarreal to Tianjin Quanjian (€20 Million), Alex Witsel from Zenit to Tianjin Quanjian (€20 Million), and Carlos Tevez from Boca Juniors to Shanghai Greenland Shenhua (€10.5 Million).
It is worth noting, Tianjin Quanjian offered Benfica €45 Million for Kostas Mitroglou, however the Greece international denied the millions from the Chinese club to continue his career at a high playing level in Europe.
