Vouzas to Bring On “Forgotten” Players

Vouzas to Bring On “Forgotten” Players

Olympiacos interim manager Vasilis Vouzas will begin to use Chori Dominguez, Esteban Cambiasso, and Marko Marin who all “fell off” the roster under former Olympiacos manager Paulo Bento.

On Monday, Paulo Bento was sacked by Olympiacos and academy U-20 coach Vasilis Vouzas took over. Under Paulo Bento, players like Chori Dominguez, Esteban Cambiasso, and Marko Marin saw limited if any playing time as they were continuously left out of the roster week in and week out. However, interim manager Vasilis Vouzas has stated that these three players, who have the capabilities to add depth and much talent to the roster, will quickly be re-integrated into the lineup.

Marin and Cambiasso could be used in tomorrow’s match against Besiktas in the Europa League Round of 16 while Dominguez is ineligible to play since he was not included in Olympiacos’ UEFA roster in January.

Paulo Bento was also known for giving the youngsters of Olympiacos a chance at the first team, including players like Manthatis, Retsos, Androutsos, and Nikolaou. The young players have not disappointed in the first team and Vouzas, who coached these players in the academies, will continue to keep the youngsters in the roster.
