OFFICIAL: Vieirinha returns to PAOK
Adelino Vieirinha has made his move back to Thessaloniki official! The Portuguese midfielder signed a three year deal with his beloved PAOK.
A transfer saga that lasted all summer has resulted in a happy ending for PAOK as Adelino Vieirinha signed a 3-year deal with the club on Thursday. The 31-year old returns to his beloved PAOK after a 5-year stay in Germany with Wolfsburg in a deal that is rumored to have closed at €1 million. Vieirinha is expected to earn €5 million in the next three years at PAOK.
While at PAOK, Vieirinha quickly became a fan favorite and was regarded as one of the best players in the SuperLeague, earning him a move to Germany for Wolfsburg in 2012. With PAOK, he made 129 appearances, scored 25 goals, and dished 25 assists.
His stellar showings continued at Wolfsburg and from a ring wing he became a right back and was named to the Bundesliga’s Starting XI. He earned a call-up to Portugal’s national team and celebrated the Euro 2016 title along with former PAOK coach Fernando Santos.
Vieirinha will look to strengthen the PAOK midfield and once again become the leader of the team.
