Fortounis doubtful for weekend derby
Olympiacos will likely be without their captain, Kostas Fortounis, in this weekend’s derby against AEK.
Kostas Fortounis has been troubled by an injury since last weekend’s Superleague matchup against Asteras Tripolis and despite undergoing a recovery program, the 24-year old has been ruled doubtful for Sunday’s derby clash against AEK. If Fortounis manages to recover in time, Hasi is not expected to take a risk and start the Greece international with fears of making the injury worse. If Fortounis makes an appearance in Sunday’s derby, he will likely come on as a substitute if needed.
In Fortounis’ place will be Ofoe, who will take over the “play making” role, while Carcela and Ben (or Marin) are expected to start on the right and left wings. Emenike is favored to take charge of Olympiacos’ attacking line after scoring two goals in Olympiacos’ midweek Cup fixture against Asteras.
Androutsos, who also suffered an injury in last weekend’s game against Asteras, has been ruled out indefinitely for the upcoming match against AEK.
