AEK see off Asteras Tripolis to go top
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 21

Lazaros Christodoulopoulos scored the only goal of the game as AEK Athens saw off the challenge of Asteras Tripolis on Sunday, beating their SuperLeague rivals 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium to move one point clear of PAOK at the summit.
Christodoulopoulos, who was also a goalscorer in the mid-week Greek Cup Athens derby victory against Olympiacos, made no mistake from 12 yards in the 61st minute after Asteras’ Ukrainian defender Yevhen Selin was penalised for a handball.
The result allowed Manolo Jimenez’s AEK team to chalk up a third successive SuperLeague win, and it was well-deserved since the Kitrinomavri were well on top throughout.
Argentine forward was unlucky not to score, hitting the woodwork on two occasions while visiting goalkeeper Giorgos Athanasiadis made a strong of fine saves to keep the hosts at bay.
