AEL’s first Superleague road win in 7 years
Larissa recorded their first Superleague road win in seven years after defeating Platanias in Chania 0-1 on Sunday.
Larissa celebrated their first win of the 2017/18 Superleague season on Sunday after defeating Platanias 0-1 at the Perivolia stadium. The win not only gave Larissa an important three points in their fight for safety, but it was the Vyssini’s first road win in seven years in the Greek top flight.
The last time Larissa celebrated a road victory in the Superleague was back on April 14, 2010 against Panionios in Nea Smyrni where the Thessaly club thumped the home side 0-3. Ironically, Panionios’ coach at the time was Georgios Paraschos, the current coach of Platanias.
Since that match in 2010 in Nea Smyrni, Larissa have recorded 11 draws and 23 losses on the road in the Superleague, a winless drought of 34 matches.
