Aris pulled within three points of Lamia and Apollon Smyrnis after defeating Panelefsiniakos and are well in the hunt for promotion to next year’s Superleague. Lamia fell on the road to Trikala while OFI was victorious away to Chania. Full Football League standings can be found here...
Trikala recorded another surprising result, after defeating OFI over the weekend, by handing Lamia their first defeat in 9 games. Giannitsanis’ 3rd minute goal from the penalty spot separated the sides at the final whistle. The result cuts Lamia’s lead atop the table to only three points after Aris easily defeated Panelefsiniakos. Highlights can be found here...
Aris took full advantage of Lamia’s loss in Trikala by thrashing Panelefsiniakos 4-0 in Thessaloniki, pulling within three points of the top of the table. All four goals were scored in the second half with Tatos, Ilic, Kapnidis (penalty), and Tavlaridis adding their names to the score sheet. The win moves Aris up to 50 points only three behind both Lamia and Apollon Smyrnis (play tomorrow). Highlights can be found here...
OFI returned to winning ways (shocking defeat to Trikala over the weekend) by defeating their Cretan rivals, Chania 0-2 on the road. Pourtoulidis opened the scoring in the fourth minute from the penalty spot and Vouho secured the three points with his goal in the final minute of play. OFI are well behind in the fight for promotion, trailing the top of the table by 11 points.
Anagennisi Karditsa gained some breathing room from the relegation zone with their 2-1 win over Aiginiakos. Tsioulis gave the hosts the lead in the 33rd minute before Fasadis’ goal six minutes after the break pulled the visitors level. However, Diatta scored the winner in the 59th minute to give the team from Karditsa all three points. They now sit on 22 points in 13th place while Aiginiakos are in the final relegation spot, with Kalloni, on 18 points.
Kissamikos earned a valuable point in their fight for survival as they played to a goalless draw away to Sparti. Kallithea are three points clear of the relegation zone after they gave up a one goal lead to Acharnaikos with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. Panegialios and Panserraikos also played to a 1-1 draw as the two teams continue to sit midtable.
Kalloni were awarded all three points against Panthrakikos and are now tied with Aiginiakos on 18 points in the final relegation spot.
Tomorrow, Agrotikos Asteras will host Apollon Smyrnis.
