Asteras go fifth after sinking woeful Kerkyra
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 13
|Asteras Tripolis||4 - 0||Kerkyra|
Asteras Tripolis’ winning form continued on Saturday as they outplayed struggling Kerkyra, defeating the Phaeacians 4-0 at the Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium.
Two goals from 27-year-old Greek striker Michalis Manias (20, 55) and further strikes from Martin Tonso (29) and Nikos Kaltsas (45) earned Savvas Pantelidis’ home side a well-deserved three-point haul which moved them up to fifth in the table.
The Arcadians have now won four matches on the bounce and have collected 18 points after 13 matches, a feat which puts them temporarily just six points off top spot occupied by AEK Athens.
Things are looking bleak for Alekos Vosniadis’ Kerkyra team, who are second from bottom with 11 points.
