Avlonitis becomes final addition at Panathinaikos
Tasos Avlonitis has signed a new deal with Panathinaikos as a free agent, and will be the club’s final signing of the “summer.”
Panathinaikos have made their final signing of the summer with Tasos Avlonitis, who joins the club as a free agent. The 27-year old defender signed a 2-year contract with the Trifylli.
Avlonitis joins Panathinaikos after a 6-month spell in Scotland with Hearts. The former Olympiacos man was a personal choice by Ouzounidis, who sees the player as a great option in the defensive line.
Avlonitis has played for Egaleo, Ilisiako, Kavala, and Panionios before joining Olympiacos in 2014, where he made 18 appearances and scored two goals (one against Panathinaikos). In 2016, he was loaned off to Sturm Graz, where he made 16 appearances, but an injury left him off the pitch and put his career on hold.
Avlonitis has also played with Greece’s U19 and U21 squads in the past, but has never been called up to the Men’s team.
